Operations Project Management Intern - Summer 2022
What a summer!
IDL is a display printing company.
The Day to Day
As a project management intern, my main focus was to support the operations project management team. This was anything from tracking finished goods inventory, raw material availability, and project status.
I also supported miscellaneous work outside of my department. This included creating new safety logos. creating new safety graphics, making new bulletin boards, and assisting in pack & fulfillment.
The Highlights
As an intern of Matthews International during the summer, I had the opportunity to meet and hear advice from the Board of Directors. Chairman of the Board, Alvaro Garcia-Tunon, said something that stuck with me: do not be discouraged by stagnation, but instead encouraged. As I was coming up on my senior year of college, this piece of wisdom gave the encouragement to pursue my last year head on before stepping into a new part of life after graduation.
I am thankful to have interned at a company that cares so much about giving back. I had the amazing opportunity to put on an "IDL Cares" shirt and participate in their local outreach. We transformed the front flower bed of the local baseball field where we replaced the weeds with new mulch and flowers.
The People
I remember asking four people about their favorite part of IDL during my interview process. Each and every one of them said the people and I can confidently say that the people truly do make IDL.
